Friday Families and Friends Playtime

Friday Families and Friends Playtime is a Beacon Community Services' Peninsula Early Years program. Join them at this free program for parents and caregivers of children up to six years old. A time to play, enjoy the gym, explore art and have a visit with friends! Takes place at 1649 Mt. Newton Cross Rd. For information, or to register to attend, please contact the Peninsula Early Years Centre

Y Young Moms Program

The Y Young Moms Program offers 8 transitional housing units for pregnant or young moms age 16-29 who are parenting a child under 5 years of age. Families receive weekly support, individual counselling and advocacy to help families achieve independence. Trained staff offer positive parenting education; life skills education; group counselling and support; mental health support; pre-employment and employment counselling and referrals.

Peninsula Early Years Centre

At the Peninsula Early Years Centre, Beacon Community Services offers a welcoming, nurturing space for families and caregivers with children ages 6 and under. Families will find comfort and encouragement, as well as important resources and supports that help build a strong foundation for young children – so they get the strongest start possible in life. Located at 1649 Mt. Newton Cross Road, Saanichton.

Sooke Family Resource Society – Family Support Group

This parent-child playgroup is an extension of our Family Support Program.  The group offers support to parents with children 0-6 years who may be facing challenges in life such as single parenthood, low income, or young parenthood.  The group will focus on supportive parenting strategies. Call to register. Sooke group meets every other Thursdsay 10AM-noon.

About the program 1Up Victoria Single Parent Resource Centre is a registered charitable organization that has been committed to serving the varied and changing needs of single parent families in the Greater Victoria area since 1978. They provide practical support, opportunities for growth and a sense of hope to single parent families across Greater Victoria.
