You and Your Baby is a Beacon Community Services' Peninsula Early Years program. Learn about prenatal education, newborn care, nutrition, infant and mother health, stages of child development, and more in this free drop-in program. Connect with other parents on the Peninsula. For prenatal families and families with infants up to 12 months. In partnership with Island Health, public health nurses provide information and support, together with the facilitator and guest speakers.
Friday Families and Friends Playtime is a Beacon Community Services' Peninsula Early Years program. Join them at this free program for parents and caregivers of children up to six years old. A time to play, enjoy the gym, explore art and have a visit with friends! Takes place at 1649 Mt. Newton Cross Rd. Through providing a quality physical activity experience that focuses on games and play, children develop their physical literacy. They aim to inspire children to play their way to confidence, skill development, fun, teamwork, cooperation, respect and inclusivity.
Head Start is a drop-in program for parents and their children ages 0 – 4 years old. They offer playgroups, nutritional support and parenting workshops, which all include transportation and childminding as needed.
Branches of the GVPL are located across Victoria, the Saanich Peninsula, the West Shore and Sooke. Each location has a children's section, as well as drop-in storytimes for families. Library cards are free and you can take home books, DVDs, and CDs for your family.

Parent-Child Mother Goose is a Beacon Community Services' Peninsula Early Years registered program. A free, fun program of favourite rhymes, music and stories that help to develop language skills for children (2 months – 3 yrs). In partnership with School District 63, this early literacy program provides social connection and support for parents and caregivers. Offered as registered 10 week sessions, with age appropriate groups and snacks.
Toddler Time is a Beacon Community Services' Peninsula Early Years program. Join us and enjoy a free weekly play time with your little one, and meet other families. This drop-in program also offers information, discussion and support during this very active stage of life and learning. For children 9-24 months old and caregivers/parents (siblings welcome).
StrongStart is a free program for 0-5 (pre-Kindergarten), with their parents/grandparents/caregivers to attend. Parents and Caregivers are expected to be actively involved and engaged with their child during the StrongStart visit, so that there is optimum child development and sharing learning. StrongStart supports the development of young children consistent with the goals of the British Columbia Early Learning Framework.
The VNFC is a non-profit Indigenous-led organization located on Southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, on the traditional lands of the Lekwungen speaking People of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. The Centre comprises over 125 compassionate staff members, building and delivering over 75 programs working to further innovative solutions to improve socio-economic conditions for urban Indigenous peoples. Their goal is to stitch the fabric of Indigenous traditions into everything the VNFC does, and to greet each other and the natural world in a good way every day.

Qualified early childhood educators lead learning activities where children find opportunities to make friends and interact with others of similar ages. Participate with your young child (aged birth to five) in play-based early learning activities – including stories, music and art. This is a free program for families that helps prepare children for success in kindergarten.
Bring the whole family to the Y indoor family playground! Play, run, bounce and explore while meeting other families in the community. Parents are asked to stay and enjoy this program with their children.
The Mustard Seed Street Church has been essential in fighting hunger and restoring faith to people living in greater Victoria since 1975. Their operations are nearly 100 percent community funded; these include the region’s largest and most accessible Food Bank, the Food Security Distribution Centre serving 60+ organizations in the capital region, Family back-to-school and Christmas supports, Hospitality programs, services at Hope Farm Healing Centre as well as Church services.
Drop-in early learning program where your child will explore and play with you in an environment that is friendly, safe and inspiring!. You will meet other families and get to share in the excitement of your child's early learning experiences. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver while attending the program. Fernwood NRG are serving their community meal on Mondays. They will be able to serve the first 80 people. There is a vegetarian and sometimes a meat option. They will unfortunately be unable to accommodate any other special or dietary requests.

This is an opportunity for children to explore and play, to meet other families and caregivers. Join the FGCA staff as they explore the challenges and joys of parenting young children over lunch. Programming will include a shared snack and group discussions as well as a shared lunch. Due to the limited space inside, they ask that you park your stroller in their covered stroller parking area at the front of the building while attending the program.
