PISE uses a combination of structured and unstructured play to help children learn to move to the best of their ability. We inspire creative movement exploration to play your way to confidence, skill development, fun, team work, cooperation, respect and inclusivity. By building a movement vocabulary through games and play, kids build the foundation to live an active, healthy lifestyle. PISE offers programs for children of all abilities ages 18 months and up. Did you know libraries are for more than borrowing books, CDs, and movies? Passes to local museums and attractions are also up for loan! In partnership with local organizations, the Greater Victoria Public Library gives library cardholders the opportunity to enrich mind and body with hands-on experiences at cultural institutions and recreational centres. Examples of passes available: Butterfly Gardens, Maritime Museum, Craigdarroch Castle, Robert Bateman Centre, Saanich Recreation, Royal BC Museum, Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. If don't have a library card yet, don't worry, they're free! Just visit any GVPL branch.

About the program Tseycum HeadStart Program is a program that supports activities focused on early childhood learning and development for First Nations children from birth to age six and their families. This includes pre and post natal support, cultural development programs, parenting and education programs and workshops, infant and toddler development programs, health screening, monitoring and referrals, fitness and nutrition, exercise, yoga for kids, Afterschool and Breakfast programs and literacy support.

Branches of the GVPL are located across Victoria, the Saanich Peninsula, the West Shore and Sooke. Each location has a children's section, as well as drop-in storytimes for families. Library cards are free and you can take home books, DVDs, and CDs for your family.

The Aboriginal Early Intervention Services Team includes the Aboriginal Infant Development Program (AIDP), the FASD Key Worker, and the Aboriginal Supported Child Development Program (ASCDP). Fernwood Community Dinners are now on Mondays! We are serving our Fernwood Community Dinner’s on Mondays from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. Join us for a hot meal around the back of the Fernwood Community Centre. There is no need to register for this event. You will be able to enjoy a hot meal or you can take it to go. There is a vegetarian and sometimes a meat option. We will unfortunately be unable to accommodate any other special or dietary requests. Dinner is served until 6:10pm. When: Mondays, 5:30-6:30pm Where: Around the back of Fernwood Community Centre, 1240 Gladstone Avenue. Walk along the outside of the building and you will see us in the back, near the gym. We will be eating outside whenever weather permits. Cost: By donation, no one turned away.
